Tutor, read along and play board games with K-5 children (3pm-6pm)

Service Description

In PCR's After-School Program, volunteers will tutor and read along with children to improve their reading and math skills. Volunteers are responsible for demonstrating time management, study habits, and mutual respect to children in elementary school (grades K-5). To promote a safe classroom environment, volunteers will instruct children to keep their work areas organized and encourage communications with peers and teachers. Program days are based on NYCDOE public school calendar. Must come at least twice a week. Hours and day(s) of the week can be discussed and changed based on volunteers' schedules. September 5, 2024 - June 26, 2025 Mon - Fri 3 PM - 6 PM Location: 947 57th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11219 (Basement) Requirements: Volunteers must be responsible and - 14 years or older - active PCR volunteer for at least 3 months - be able to attend for a minimum of 3 months - Have good communication skills - Have time management skills - Have the ability to follow directions and tasks - Have patience and be understanding - Can speak English and Chinese This program does not have a booking option.
